Wanting to keep the essence of Leland alive but present it from a different angle, 2B Studio utilized inviting, residential textiles and soft lighting to achieve both a physical and visual feeling of comfort in their showroom.

“When you get to Leland at NeoCon there’s something about it that’s just refreshing,” Burton said. “We wanted to keep that feeling alive but just change the configuration of the space so it matches the new brand language.”

​

For the 2018 showroom, Leland will be introducing three contemporary product lines that match the fresh and progressive feel of the new Leland branding.

​

A piece with a sense of mystery, Back Bench features an impressive shape and veiled base that works in a lounge, office or residential space. Slam Lounge broadens the Slam family, introducing this line to lounge environments. Joining the Amadeus collection, the wood leg option brings a stylish addition to any room.

“We are showcasing some exciting new designs that people will really want to see,” Burton said.

While developing the showroom concept, 2B chose a mid-century modern floorplan, keeping the space open, but engaging.

 

The showroom also highlights the story of Ralph Rapson by showcasing original sketches from the architect and designer that pair well with the horizontal slatwall panels and room partitions for a nostalgic, comfortable feel.

“We drew inspiration from existing, residential spaces and commercial spaces,” Burton said. “Things that give us that warm and cozy feeling. We want people to use the furniture, sit on it, have meetings on it. Furniture is meant to be used, lived in, sat on. That’s the whole point that it exists.”

​

The design of the space encourages visitors to use the furniture as if it were their own.

​

“The furniture and all of the elements of our showroom are carefully placed to facilitate human interaction rather than obstruct it,” Burton said.

​

Fresh, precise and sophisticated, Leland’s showroom is a reflection of great things to come.
